We had the opportunity to check out The Science of Gingerbread at
the Discovery Science Center this month and it was AMAZING!!
I was so impressed with all of the entries and they take up the entire museum.
It is truly fantastic.
After my kids saw all of the entries JT decided that we need to build something
to enter next year and I agree that it would be a lot of fun.
There were dinosaurs, pyramids, UPS trucks, carousels - so many unique ideas.
As part of The Science of Gingerbread the kids have the opportunity
to build a race car out of cookies and candies and race them
on a Pinewood Derby-like track.
It was so much fun!
It was cool to see the kids choose their "car" parts and how the different
pieces worked and didn't work.
In addition to The Science of Gingerbread, DSC is also running
the Indian Jones and the Adventure of Archaeology exhibit.
I was fascinated with all of the memorabilia and information that we got
to experience during the audiovisual tour.
Each person gets their own headphone/video console set
that let's you interact with the exhibit through videos, a scavenger hunt,
and narration through the entire exhibit.
At the end of the exhibit JT tried his hand at the chair lift
and he enjoyed the challenge.
Both of the kids loved being archaeologists themselves and digging
for treasures and artifacts too.
The kids thoroughly enjoyed the museum and we can't wait
to go back with my husband because he would go crazy for the Indiana Jones exhibit.
It was Isabella's first time at the Discovery Science Center, so we had to
try out some of the permanent exhibits like the bed of nails.
And of course the giant pin wall is always a big hit with the kids!
We even got to see Santa!
The kids were excited to take home a bag of ingredients to make
their own gingerbread over the Christmas break.
